Volusia County

Volusia County is situated on the east coast of Central Florida, along the Atlantic Ocean.  Over 400,000 people live in Volusia, taking advantage of the mild climate and the natural beauty of a county whose 47 miles of beaches are only one attraction among many.  Volusia is world renown for the automobile races at Daytona International Speedway and for its bike week.  More than 10 million tourists visit Volusia County each year to enjoy its beaches, parks, springs, and many water sports.  Spring Break is geared toward a younger crowd which fills  beachfront cities like Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach and New Smyrna Beach every year.  The past is very present also in Volusia County, and Deland is the perfect community for the visitors looking for "southern charm".  Many universities are dedicated to offer high quality learning: Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Sterson University, Bethune-Cookman College, Datyona Beach Community College and the University of Central Florida all have a great reputation.   Sports, culture, history, nature, Volusia County offers activities for all tastes.  Its nature and its buildings, old and new, provide a perfect setting for inhabitants and visitors alike.
